At 5:23 PM MT on Thursday, June 4, Marni birthed the newest addition to our family, Elijah Hudson. He is 6lbs 13oz, 21″ long, and delicious! Marni was simply amazing: 8 hours of labor, 45 minutes of pushing and no drugs at all.
Elijah is named after his great-grandfather, Josh’s paternal grandfather, Harold Zapin:

So, it finally happened: We gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on August 10th 2006,
His name is Avery Brooklyn Zapin.

Named after his great grandfather Abraham (Marni's grandfather who was also my Rabbi (Kass) religious teacher)

Now that I've spent nearly 32 weeks watching Marni's belly grow to an amazing size, it's hard not to imagine something being in there. I mean what else could be the size of a basketball in your wife's stomach?

Try this out: Get a big bowl and cram it with ice cubes. Stick your hands all the way to the bottom of the bowl and hold it there for a minute.
